We know it's that time of year when we're all making New Years resolutions. Which statistically we never accomplish;) So we thought New Year, New Me? No, we want New Year BETTER me. We believe that we can all do small things daily that will change our lives over time. To start the year off right we created a really fun and quick list on - How to Look Your Best in 5 Easy Steps. Things you can do daily that will enhance your overall look. So here we go .......
Step 1: Push back your cuticles in the shower. We often forget about our hands and nails but it's the second thing you notice when greeting people. You look at their face then you shake their hand or give them a hug or a little wave. Pushing back your cuticles leaves the nail bed clear of dry skin and keeps your nails looking neat! Push back your cuticles in the front and the back.
Step 2: Exfoliate your lips! Nothing worse than dry cracked lips that can bleed if not treated.
Try this, before going to bed; get a little container and put 1 tsp of sugar, a dollop of honey (for vegans you may use maple syrup) and squeeze 2 to 3 drops of lemon juice into the mixture. Combine ingredients Rub the scrub in a circular motion on wet lips for a few minutes. Rinse and apply lip balm. Always keep your lips moisturized with a lip balm or lip butter.
Step 3: Groom your eyebrows. Your eyebrows frame your face so you want the frame to compliment the rest of your face. Use a eyebrow brush and gently brush your eyebrows up follow the brows natural shape.
Step 4: Meditate! Nothing does more damage to your skin than stress. With our hectic schedules,crazy jobs,family obligations and just dealing with life in general we can become overwhelmed and anxious. These daily feelings can have our body/mind in a state of stress which is not good. Stress can lead to inflammation which can cause havoc on our body. From hair loss,water retention,cold sores,weight gain,thinning of nails the list goes on and on. So you have to take time out of your day and check in with yourself. Try this, sit down for 2 minutes and do nothing. Turn off your phone and shut out any outside distractions and just breathe. If your mind can't stop racing with thoughts that's perfectly normal. Just breathe.
Step 5: Take care of your skin! Be kind to your skin. Be gentle. Make sure your getting at least 8 hours of sleep a day. Being well rested leaves your body feeling rejuvenated. It also allows your body to recover from the previous days mental and physical stress. Stretch and exercise daily. Drink plenty of water. When applying products to your face apply gently. Moisturize twice daily. Exfoliate dead skin cells weekly. Educate yourself on your skincare products.
